I’m far from a real Hip Hop DJ but I don’t let that stop me from playing it. As a teen, I used to pump N.W.A and Public Enemy from my Mom’s cassette deck in her car when she drove me around. I can still see her facial expressions. Bless her for putting up with me. Thanks Mom.

It wasn’t until the 90s when A Tribe Called Quest changed my life.  I was a headbanging Hip Hop loving Metalhead who absolutely loved the Metal Hip Hop fusion that started with Bodycount plus countless others.

Without writing too much, I’ll just say that 90’s Hip Hop was my gateway into Breakbeats. I used to hear so many familiar samples in Breakbeat records and mixes. It was Bassbin Twins’ mix “Breakbeat Web” that cemented my love for Breaks. I haven’t looked back since.
